LOVOT and the Nest feature internal cooling fans that automatically run to regulate their temperatures. If you hear a high-frequency whining or squeaking sound, it is usually the fan working as intended.
Please check the following causes and try the corresponding remedies:
- High Ambient Temperature (Above 30°C / 86°F)
- Applies to: Both LOVOT & Nest
- Remedy: Move your LOVOT and Nest to a cooler area, such as a shaded spot or an air-conditioned room.
- During a Software Update
- Applies to: Nest Only
- Status: The Nest will display the word “UPDATING.” The fan will naturally quiet down once the update is complete.
- Important: To prevent system malfunctions, never turn off the power during a software update. Please wait for it to finish.
- Temporary Processing Load
- Applies to: Both LOVOT & Nest
- Remedy: If the above situations do not apply, the system may be experiencing a temporary high workload. Please try restarting the specific device that is making the loud fan noise.
